Seamoss, scientifically knowns as Chondrus Crispus, is a type of algae or seaweed.  It grows in waters along the Atlantic coasts, primarily between North America and Europe.   Seamoss provides an abundance of minerals that are essential to the human body like: iron, B-vitamins, protein, iodine, zinc, calcium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, vitamin C and many more.

It is a mineral-rich, alkaline food source that can help the body improve the pH balance, hydrate, and heal on many levels.

How is Seamoss gel used?

The most common way to use Seamoss gel is to take1-2 tablespoons daily.   It can also be mixed in your morning beverage, such as coffee, tea, or protein shakes.  Seamoss can be used as a “thickening ingredient”  in foods, such as cooked kale, or cabbage.  Some health conscious Mothers even use seamoss gel to make baby formula, so they can avoid the cow’s milk and soy normally found in traditional baby formula.


Seamoss gel is also very popular as a face mask.  At night, apply it to your face and let it dry and solidify.  After it has solidified, remove the seamoss from your face with a warm washcloth.
